The pains of electrical

This is not only a blog update on the electrical for the new cabin, it’s also a shout-out to my wonderful hubby!

So let me start off by saying, I don’t know how my hubby does it sometimes. He is very persistent in learning what he needs to accomplish what ever task he needs. Since going off grid, he has learned small engine repair, framing windows, foundations, felling trees and electrical. This was all in between all the other off grid tasks.

Electrical! That’s a bad word to my hubby right now…lol! It taunted him for months. I should also mention he’s afraid of electricity due to a “shocking” experience as a kid. He didn’t even go into the new for a couple months because he knew he had to start the wiring and felt overwhelmed when he went in there. So he dove into his research. He read, read and read, and then read more. He finally started running wire here and there to feel a little confident in it. There were still somethings that he was having a hard time wrapping his head around. More research and reading. After awhile he knew what he needed to do.

The electrical is done! All that is left is hooking up the solar equipment and wire to the panel. Such a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders! He was relieved, I was relieved and our doggie was relieved!  I’m sure I couldn’t even imagine how he must feel right now. Not only learning something completely new, but conquering his fear! Love you husband!

Cabin video update coming soon to a theatre near you 😀
